Carbonation chart
KegLand Set & Forget CO₂ Carbonation Chart – this is a practical chart for homebrewers and beverage makers, allowing you to accurately calculate the CO₂ pressure required to reach your desired level of carbonation.
The chart is designed for the "Set & Forget" method – one of the simplest and most reliable ways to carbonate beverages in a keg system. Simply set the appropriate pressure based on the temperature of your beverage and leave the system for a few days until the CO₂ naturally dissolves into the liquid.
How to use the carbonation chart?
1. Determine the beverage temperature
Find your beverage temperature on the left side of the chart:
- °C scale
- °F scale
E.g., if the beer is 4°C, use this row.
2. Choose the desired carbonation level
Select the desired amount of CO₂ ("Volumes of CO₂") in the upper part of the chart.
Examples:
- British Ale → 1.5–2.2 vol.
- American Ale → 2.2–3.0 vol.
- Wheat Beer → 3.0–4.0 vol.
- Soda Water → 3.5–5.0 vol.
3. Find the intersection point
Where the:
- temperature
- selected CO₂ amount
intersect, you will find the recommended pressure in PSI units.
E.g.:
- 4°C temperature
- 2.5 CO₂ volumes
→ required pressure is about 12 PSI
