NO-OX malt
FEATURES
Belgomalt NO-OX malt is a base malt, equivalent to our Pilsner malt.

A unique feature of this malt is the use of a two-row spring barley variety without the LOX enzyme (nul-lox). This means that this malt has no lipoxygenase activity. Lipoxygenase oxidizes fatty acids during wort preparation, and oxidized fatty acids cause undesirable flavor changes in the final beer. By using this malt, you will avoid oxidation during wort production, resulting in a more stable beer flavor and a longer shelf life.
This malt can be used as a regular Pilsner malt – it has a low color and high enzymatic activity. Due to its high extract content, the malt also contributes to high brewery efficiency.
If your beer has an off-flavor caused by oxidation, it is worth trying this malt – its effect on flavor stability has been proven in practice.
