Viking Munich Light - Base malt
"Viking" Munch Light malt is made from 2-row spring barley. Due to the drying temperature of 110-120 °C, the malt acquires an aromatic, nutty character. Due to the high maturation temperature, enzyme activity is clearly reduced compared to Pilsen malt. Reduced enzyme activity must be taken into account when creating a brewing recipe. Munch Light malt is an ideal malt for dark lagers, bock, festival (Marzen) beers, as it highlights the malt aroma and rich taste. Classified as specialty malts, although sometimes up to 100% is used.
